"Mr. Dante Principe Jr.,Two weeks ago, I took my 98 VW Golf to the Smith VW dealer for a non-transmission related problem. Upon completion of that work, the dealer told me that my 2nd gear on my Automatic Transmission was sticking and that I needed a new transmission. I told them I did not want them to do that type of work on my car. I decided to get it checked out by an expert at Benchmark Transmission before I did any damage.I looked in the Yellow Pages and decided to call your office and get an estimate. "While I was in Middletown Delaware on business, I experienced what I thought was a transmission problem and took my car to Benchmark Transmission Middletown Delaware. Craig and John made a FREE assessment of the problem that morning, advised me of the cost, and indicated they could fix it by the next morning. When I asked if they could do the job that afternoon, they said they would try. I received a call back by 3:30 that afternoon indicating the car was ready. When I picked it up at 4, I was greeted in a pleasant manner and the charge was exactly what they had indicated. They had replaced a broken Transmission cooler line and the car now runs fine. Most places, realizing that I am not an auto mechanic, would have likely tried to install a new transmission, taken a couple of days to so, and charged a small fortune. Benchmark has consistently stood behind their lifetime warranty which I purchased for my rebuilt transmission! When the small stainless steel bearing in the transmission failed at 270,000 miles, you diagnosed the problem and fixed it, all under the Benchmark warranty. You and the crew at Benchmark Transmission also correctly diagnosed the failure in the drivetrain center carrier bearing, which was causing annoying noise and vibration. Replacing the driveshaft assembly corrected the problem. Throughout my relationship with Benchmark Transmission I have been struck by your commitment to customer satisfaction, to staying with the problem and "getting it right" .
