"Mr. Dante Principe Jr.,Two weeks ago, I took my 98 VW Golf to the Smith VW dealer for a non-transmission related problem. Upon completion of that work, the dealer told me that my 2nd gear on my Automatic Transmission was sticking and that I needed a new transmission. I told them I did not want them to do that type of work on my car. "While I was in Middletown Delaware on business, I experienced what I thought was a transmission problem and took my car to Benchmark Transmission Middletown Delaware. Craig and John made a FREE assessment of the problem that morning, advised me of the cost, and indicated they could fix it by the next morning. When I asked if they could do the job that afternoon, they said they would try. I received a call back by 3:30 that afternoon indicating the car was ready. When I picked it up at 4, I was greeted in a pleasant manner and the charge was exactly what they had indicated. They had replaced a broken Transmission cooler line and the car now runs fine.
